I am still a Mum

1981 my daughter, Marlene became, 1987 my son, Mark became.

1988 they stepped into the next world

We stayed behind no matter what we wished

Mother's Days came and passed

Birthdays, engagements, weddings & births

Every year, these events were celebrated

But.. I am still their Mum

Tears, Memories, are all that remain

Dreams of what could have been

We are expected to celebrate & rejoice

Provide a smiling face, card & present

A happy presence at the table.

I don't get a smiling face, a card or present.
